Aaron the mouse enters the house and runs up the clock. When the clock strikes one, the mouse runs down and befriends Mike, the boy who lives there. They become the best of friends. But Tom, the cat, gets jealous and tries to scare Aaron the mouse away as he feels he was there first. Little does Tom know that Aaron is not scared at all and returns to the house with a big surprise! This is a humorous and entertaining little book with clever rhymes.

The author discovered a passion for writing after she had her two beautiful children, and she completed a writing course with ‘The Writing School’. She was able to take care of her children at home while continuing to write. She also loves music, playing the drums, dancing and living life to the fullest. She has a strong faith and always focuses on the positive.

    In “There’s a Mouse in the House” by Lisa Rita, we have a family that is experiencing chaos because a mouse has gotten into their house and is running around so much, that they can’t catch him. He’s running up and down the clock, all around the living room, and is causing such a disturbance that Mom wants him out of the house immediately. Her son, Mike, on the other hand, thinks it is fun to have this mouse running around and decides to name him Aaron. Aaron is white and brown, and now has become best friends with Mike. The mouse feels so comfortable in the house that he even asks for cheese. Tom, the family cat, thinks differently and wants to chase Aaron right out of his house. Ironically, Aaron isn’t even fazed by Tom. Then one day, Aaron disappears. Everyone assumes it is Tom’s fault. That is, until Aaron returns to the house with a huge surprise for the family. What did Aaron bring to the family’s house? How did the family feel about it? Readers will find this charming children’s story one in which they can sit and not only enjoy the storyline, but like looking at the illustrations provided. It is one that will evoke plenty of giggles from its young readers as they turn the pages trying to see what Aaron does next in his new home. While following along in Aaron and Mike’s tale, readers will notice a slight rhyming pattern to the text that is sure to amuse readers young and old. The illustrations provided can be found on every other page of the story and are adorable to look at. They complement telling the story in picture form, and readers will surely have fun watching each illustration unfold as they turn the pages. The colors and design of each illustration were simple in nature but fit perfectly in telling Aaron’s story to the readers.
