The author is new to me and I honestly had quite low expectations but I have to say I was proven wrong with this one. This book kept me on the edge of my seat. If you love thrillers this book is for you. I am a avid reader and come across a really good thriller once in a while, this is one of them. You wont be disappointed. The story was quite easy to grasp and very captivating. You really end up feeling for the characters and getting sucked right into the plot of the book. Don't expect a classic thriller with this one because its definitely not that its interesting and unique and very creative a refreshing read in the genre.

This is a very interesting book series. Only the first book in a five part story but it is a great little intro to the series. The character David starts out as a homeless man out for revenge for the death of his wife and newborn son. His list consists of nine people that he holds responsible for their demise. Unfortunately for him his first act causes Amara (Death himself) to send Fisher to deal with him and now David must atone for his crime and to do that he must become a revenant and a member of the Instruments of Death. Their entire purpose is to deal with the worst of the worst of those still living. Together Fisher, Byers, Wren, Lexi and David must face the six before the planet is destroyed. I look forward to seeing where the story goes and what adventures this group of misfit heroes face together. Highly recommend you give this one a read!

This was a very interesting book which gripped me from the beginning. I really love a revenge story and this was David's situation as he went on a mission to murder those he felt were to blame for losing his family. However when David is approached by a unusual man one day, he finds himself in a very unique and different kind of world. This whole journey was fascinating I must say.

- Something that explores death, grief, second chances and understanding our mistakes (Should David have tried learning more about the people he wanted to kill before acting so impulsively? But isn't this an indication of what grief/anger can do to our damaged minds)

A quick, unique and interesting read which is worthy of your time.

The Instruments of Death is not your typical revenge story. The main character suffers a horrible tragedy and because of this plans a mass murder but fate intervenes and he meets a mysterious man who sets him on a unique journey working for death. It's worth the read and I have recommended and convinced all my friends to buy and read this book.

A quick yet interesting read. Has a unique take on death giving death a persona and visiting a new idea of what happens when we die. Not at all what I was expecting based on the cover but the characters are written well with easy dialogue has an air of mystery that keeps your interest and has you wanting to know more. It's a decent read and has a great storyline, I was sorry when the end came far too quickly.

This book was an excellent read and an excellent start to what I’m certain is going to be a great series. The plot of this book is unlike anything I have ever read before, the concept of the characters and the storyline is completely original and pulls the reader in very early on. I look forward to reading more from the author and following them on their journey as an author.

The idea for this story is really well thought out and interesting. The character development and backstory are intriguing while the character dialogue is quirky however the way the sentences are structured and set up is quite distracting as at times you don't realize the dialogue has changed from one character to the next which unfortunately does take away from the overall story at times. If you can get past that it is worth the read as there really isn't another book quite like this one. It's unique and captivating enough to overlook the few flaws in the sentence structure. It is a vengeance story with so many intriguing characters and a plot that has you sucked in and wanting to know more right from the very start. It is a quick read with short chapters but overall worth taking a look. It has great potential. I recommend it to anyone from young adults to senior citizens.

There is so much to like about this book. The characters, the setting, the storyline it's all extremely intriguing. It is a short book that is fairly fast-paced and doesn't drag on. It gets right to the point and gives a unique take on death, grief, revenge, and second chances and explores a new idea of what would you do if you had nothing left to lose and what happens when you die, and if your actions ultimately have consequences. I do feel it is worth mentioning that this book although I enjoyed it, may not be for everyone and there are a few subject matters that could upset or even turn off some readers but I do think despite even them it's definitely something I'd recommend checking out because it's very different and doesn't fit into one box. It's not horror as you might first expect from the cover or the title as I found it relatively mild for that genre, I wouldn't class it as a thriller, it has aspects of comedy and suspense but it doesn't fit in that either. It's a perplexing one that as I type this I still haven't totally worked out where it sits. All in all I think this book would be enjoyed by a variety of age groups,

I was given the opportunity to read this novel and yes it was worth my while. It is fast-paced and action-packed. I can see it appealing to audiences who love the action and superhero genre. It has a creative approach with the usual literary tropes. It is without a doubt, interesting and very readable.

Absolutely great little novel. It follows a man on his journey to avenge his family. The storyline is so creative, it's unlike any book I have ever read before. With a ritual sacrificing a true innocent the book definitely takes on a dark theme but if you are interested in a quick read that will grip you from the start I highly recommend showing your support to this new author with his debut novel, he is starting off in the industry with a bang! I can't wait to read more of his work.

The main character contemplates committing mass murder of 14 individuals and it has you wondering will he succumb to his darkest impulses or find a way to channel his pain into something more constructive. Death is a physical character in the story and he becomes pivotal in the main characters transformation. His enigmatic nature and power create mystery and fascination. The opportunity for redemption that he brings is captivating. The introduction of the villainous character manages to inject a sense of tension into the unfolding story and while his motivations are not explained, his ultimate gory defeat paves the way for a satisfying conclusion. It is clear the end of the book is not the end of the story and in fact the beginning of a emotional and psychological quest of which I am now fully invested in following.

A gripping revenge turned redemption story of a man who has lost everything and hit rock bottom. Would have liked more in-depth character development with backstory and would have liked to have seen the main character get in a few more kills before death himself intervened but overall a great little book

This was pretty good! The violent climax scene in the book was the highlight. I'd have loved more darkness. This author however has a way of bringing a scene to life with his words.

What a page-turner! I could not put it down, and read it in one sitting. It’s one hundred percent original nothing else like it. Dark, creepy, and powerful. A mind-blowing and emotional and at times disturbing story that I found utterly addictive and sinister. I highly recommend people read it, it was so good!

Fast paced, super interesting concept. Dark and intriguing but not particularly scary but definitely a little unsettling. This book really surprised me with how good it was. The characters were very distinct and believable, I suspect the author has direct experience with certain emotional traumas or just did his research really well because the little details of how the characters behaved under circumstances that they were placed in was perfect. Anyone who has experienced similar will likely know how accurate this is. The book could have used a slightly better editor, a few things could have been worded better but it doesn’t distract from the overall story. Shoutout to the narrator who did the audiobook absolutely brilliant voice couldn’t be more perfect was a pleasure from start to finish to listen to he really captures the essence of the story and brings the characters to life.
