The Forest of Tūkino follows the stories of four different creatures who are each experiencing a different aspect of domestic violence. This story is told in a way which evokes emotion, so that readers can understand what it can feel like to be stuck in a cycle of abuse.

Providing insight to some and hope for others, The Forest of Tūkino takes readers on a journey into the darkness and back out into the light again.

Montanna is an Aussie mum of three boys. She is a professional dreamer. As a child, Montanna’s mother spent a good portion of her time telling her daughter to get her head out of the clouds. But Montanna liked leaving her head there because up in the clouds, it’s easier to do what she does best… Dream!

This beautiful book takes the reader on a journey through hardship, and pain and out the other side where healing occurs.

I believe that this is an excellent example of how powerful messages, education and experiences can be taught through a story, without a person having to live through the events themselves.

Congratulations to the Author and thank you for your contribution towards literature that can inspire others to be better and help others.

Great reading for children, teens and adults. A lovely story about animals for young children. For adults and teens, the story is about domestic violence told through the actions of animals. Very intuitive storytelling.

A beautifully written book that is pivotal in today’s society. Highly recommend

I couldn’t put this story down, and I’m reading it to my children; unfortunately, it’s a story that is all too real for many of my friends - friends who were once strong, independent, funny, loving people who found themselves in relationships that made them think they were less than they are, less special, less important and less loved. We can break the cycle, we can help our children learn what healthy relationships are - this story will help you remember how to be strong and how to find acceptance when you are in that dark space and hopefully it will help people identify red flags before it’s too late.

A beautifully written story that gives the reader a deeper understanding of the different types of domestic violence but also how it is possible to create a fulfilling new life.
The characters are brought to life with the creative way in which it is written and it allows you to feel as though you have been alongside them on their journey through the good and the bad.
I found it hard to put this down from the moment I started reading and would highly recommend for all ages.
I cannot wait for more stories from this very talented author.

The author has delivered an easy-to-read, educational body of work on the difficult topic of family and domestic violence that is well articulated for a young mind to comprehend. Creative storytelling coupled with colourful characters and beautifully described settings this book cleverly identifies unacceptable behaviours to create awareness as well as provide solutions and outcomes.
A must for every child’s bookshelf.

This book is incredibly written and really captures the different kinds of DV in such a touching way. I read it to my 12 and 10 year old who found it so interesting they didn't want it to end. The way Montanna uses the different animals for each story is extremely clever and helps capture the abuse in a whole different way. I think this book should be read by every adult and child so everyone can think about their words and actions and relationships.

Really interesting way to use the different animals, I have friends who have suffered physical and emotional abuse and it was difficult to explain to their children
This book would have been ideal at that time. It would be a great help for teachers of teenagers in health classes to show how easy it can be to be manipulated by someone you love, but how it is invisible to others around you.

Well done Montana, I will be recommending this book when I get back to the UK.
