A Danish writer who is visiting New York becomes friends with the raccoons in Central Park and together they travel to the lady’s hometown, Paris, to experience some of the famous places in the French capital. The raccoons also travel to the south of France to visit the film festival in Cannes and try to become famous, and there they meet some of the actors and directors participating in the festival. The raccoons, who all have very different personalities and talents, soon get into all sorts of situations and all kinds of trouble…

Birgitta Christensen is an Oxford-based Danish/Icelandic author who writes books and articles. Her educational background is psychology and she has travelled six continents and experienced many different cultures and people. While living between Paris and New York, she, in her ‘Dear All’ emails to friends around the world, started making up stories about the raccoons in Central Park going with her to Paris and getting into a lot of trouble. Friends suggested to turn the stories into a children’s book, and this is how Raccoons in Paris, about the cheeky little raccoons from New York, came to be.
