Originating from England and having travelled throughout Canada, the Author currently resides in beautiful British Columbia. Spending part of the year in the Cascade Mountain area of Northern Washington, USA she enjoys walking with her northern canine friend and howling to the moon with the coyotes around the campfire.
Her work epitomizes the spirit and soul of the British people through two wars who, while impoverished still retained their personal strength, comradery and dignity while dealing with atrocities inflicted upon them. It is her hope that the writing of this novel will serve in some small way to reinforce the importance of remembering those stalwart souls.
Read Linden Carroll's book of, "Olive". The story was very endearing and historically very interesting to read the facts of that wartime era. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and am now awaiting her next work. Thank you for providing such a lovely read. Heather Stevens (Canada).
Loved this book, the Romany culture - the storyline covering the four generations was rich in description and well worth the read.
As a new Canadian author I am looking forward to further stories. Sharing this book with friends as my Christmas gift.
I found "Olive" to be an easy and enjoyable read. I thought that it was well researched and presented just about the right amount of historical content.
It provided a good insight into the privations suffered by the characters during both World War eras. One couldn't help but feel for their plight.
I am eagerly awaiting this author's next offering.
Easy to read and I really enjoyed it. Give it a try!!!
