Lily is a toddler who through the meanders of her early life becomes a young adult propelled by her travels on a quest of what we all humans long for. That is, not only to be desired or loved, but merely to be valued and to find one’s own sense of belonging. Lily learns to trust her actions and faith and eventually to lean forward into her destiny. A kaleidoscope of endeavors and emotions awaits the reader on every page, fostering clarity and joy and profound musings on human nature.

This is a long-awaited first novel for Julie Dumaine. The initial draft of this novel emerged during a memorably warm summer, spent near the Lake Massawippi in Quebec. Dumaine kept her dream to write and publish alive ever since her youth. Through the busy days of her career as a public sector manager in Canada and through the years of the pandemic, her dream to publish continues to further thrive.

She likes spending her leisure time playing the piano, swimming, or hiking but comes fully alive sharing her table of good food and wine in the company of her beloved family and friends. She feels strongly that growth and wisdom often emerge through hardships and that faith, love, and resilience are paramount to a significant life.
