For millennia, people have taken to detailing life’s victories and downfalls in a poetic way, be they humorous or tragic. This book is a collection of glimpses of times past, and present day. But the book’s intention is primarily to inspire and entertain, which, in the final analysis, is what poetry is intended to do.

Daniel J.L. Ryan is a retired builder living in Essex who has, for the past many years, taken to composing poetry of a somewhat unusual and diverse nature, covering many different subjects.

He has been happily married to his wife, Linda, and they have two children and four grandchildren. To date he has written three novels (all of yet unpublished), and he is continually looking for subject and inspiration for both his poetry and novels.
