Moray eels and shrimp, remora fish and stingrays, crabs and sponges. What do these pairings all have that make them special? They are all examples of a fascinating relationship that animals have with each other. This is called symbiosis. Using rhyme and gentle humour the reader is taken on a journey to a hidden world where nature’s wonders and lessons are revealed. The poem can be read aloud by teachers and parents or read independently by children. The additional background information provides the opportunity to extend children’s knowledge further. Why not take a dive and find out more about these amazing friendships in a catchy verse that invites you into the depths of the ocean?

Leonie is an educator and adventurer. A mother of two grown sons, she has been a teacher for 40 years. While she lives in Western Australia, she loves to travel and recently this has included adventures both on the ocean on a container ship travelling half way around the world and beneath its depths as a scuba diver, swimming with sharks, dolphins, stingrays, and sea lions. It is her love of diving and a keen interest in the marine environment, coupled with many years of stimulating young minds which were the inspiration for Come Dive with Me.
