Michael Tierney

Michael Tierney was born in Hartlepool in 1949 into a conservative Catholic family. He trained to be a teacher at Trinity & All Saints Colleges and Leeds University and taught in Catholic primary schools in Birmingham for 38 years, 27 of these as a headteacher.


From 1985 until 2019, he was involved in marriage preparation in his local parish.


On retiring, he decided to use his experience to produce an informative and supportive tool for those interested in the problems faced by young-engaged Catholics who are on the brink of what they hope will be a life-long marital partnership.
