The book A Village Voice is based on the story of Irish immigrants and their struggle to achieve the American dreams while living in the USA. Brian Flanagan is a third-generation Irish immigrant who landed a job with a leading bank in New York City. He hopes to make his family proud, however, he is also worried about his family’s ties with the organised crime syndicate in the city and their historic involvement in the Irish Republican movement.
Brian tries to get free from his family’s dark past but eventually gets involved to save his family. The story is an interesting take on an immigrant’s perspective in America and how everyone is chasing the American dream in the country.
The author Brian Martin was born and raised in Greenwich Village, New York. He graduated from the Trinity College Dublin and Dublin City University eventually. He currently lives with his wife and son in Atlanta, Georgia. This is his first novel.
