Valley Journal Advertiser features Michael Binns as a first time novelist
The author of the book 'Will from Melrose', Michael Binns was featured in the article titled as ‘Can’t we live together in peace?’. In the feature, Michael was quoted for his ideas and inspiration which lead him to write ‘Will from Melrose: A Romantic Trek through a Web of Conspiracy’.
Will a teenaged Scottish soldier, badly wounded in battle is saved and nursed by an English girl. He despises England and its people but finds it irresistible to fall for the English girl named Rachel who like an angel blessed her with a new life. In his new he finds himself torn between his love and loyalties towards his king. The young boy at heart and a soldier from mind must choose and bite the bullet. Later, through following events protagonist’s character matures enough to see the things for what they really are. The story unfolds beautifully exploring war, nationalism, and romance through history.
Michael Binns has two sons and five grandchildren, while he is currently living a retired life in Nova Scotia. He was born a Scottish and lived much of his youth in Scotland earning his degree in Mathematics and working as a biometrician in the agricultural department. Later he moved to Canada, continuing as a biometrician in agriculture. Through his career, he has many published scientific papers and a textbook to his credit. Binns got his inspiration to write his first novel while attending Kentville’s cenotaph.
