Acclaimed Welsh poet, Leighton J. Rees’s poem Golden Hills was featured on YouTube. YouTuber Poem Notes has uploaded a video on his channel, in the video, he is narrating the beautiful poem Golden Hills, the poem is taken from Leighton’s collection of poems Tales from the Gin Hotel. The narration was excellent and engaging.

Tales from the Gin Hotel is a lovely collection of poems by Leighton J Rees. The poems are about some burning topics like love, loss, mundanity and everything in between. Some poems are tributes to icons, some have dark humour so there is something for everyone. In this unique collection of poems, some are surreal descriptions yet others are tender and gentle, some are philosophical yet others are ordinary. A treat for fans of poetry and an invigorating read.

Leighton J Rees is a Welsh poet from Swansea. Father of three children and an avid boxing fan, he enjoys most genres of music. He is a big fan of the Celtic Football Club. Leighton has always enjoyed writing poetry and often quotes Ella Wheeler Wilcox, Patrick Kavanagh, Brendan Behan and Emily Bronte are among his many influences. Leighton has attended St David’s Roman Catholic Primary and Bishop Vaughan Catholic School.
