John Walker Pattison was born in the beautiful seaside town of South Shields. He has recently retired as a senior clinical nurse specialist in haematology at a local hospital. He is known to be one of the longest-surviving cancer survivors in the UK. He has been living in remission for 46 years post-diagnosis.
