Alex Atock’s book, ‘My Friend the Horse’ received an outstanding review by a fellow Equestrian enthusiast. The book ‘My Friend the Horse’ is a very detailed but entertaining description of author’s personal and professional life. His veterinary life, from the elite world of thoroughbred horse racing and international equestrian sport to assisting underprivileged working equines and their owners in developing countries.
In 1932, Alex Atock was born in Dublin. In 1958 He graduated from the Veterinary College of Ireland. He is passionate about all things equine, this love began as a small child and continued throughout his life. He was past secretary/treasurer of the World Equine Veterinary Association. Alex and his wife, Sherley, have three grown-up children and live in Herefordshire. He has an interest in facilitating the international movement of horses, doping and the control of medication in equestrian sport.
