The Langley Times featured Don Hunter’s book ‘Meg Tyson – Screen Lass’. The article shared a brief synopsis of the book and introduction of the author. It further shared that the novel is inspired by the author’s grandmother who also worked for the same job.

‘Meg Tyson – Screen Lass’ is historical fiction about a girl from a town where almost everyone works in coal mines. She too works in sorting coal away from metal, stone and other wastes. Her life is completely altered after she catches the eye of the son of Rich owner of mines and the village. She is transported to Canada where she finds the opportunity to better her life.

Don Hunter grew up in Distington, Cumbria, attended Workington Grammar School and did his national service with 23 Parachute Field Ambulance, Royal Army Medical Corps. He gained his B.Ed. at the University of BC. He has worked as a secondary school teacher, news reporter, feature writer and, eventually as a columnist. He is the author of four other books and a credited screenwriter.
