Me and My Shadow, by John Walker Pattison, has been nominated for the New York Book Fair Awards 2023. This is the recognition of the inspirational work rendered by the book in aid of cancer patients and their family’s support.

Me and My Shadow is the memoir of John Walker Pattison, who was diagnosed with cancer at 18. The book is his recollection of his journey through cancer, becoming an international symbol of grit and determination as he beat cancer after a long battle with the deadly disease. John Walker Pattison is one of the longest-living cancer survivors in the UK. He worked as a senior clinical nurse specialist at the haematology department of his local hospital in the town of South Shields. His interests include American photography and exploring unseen parts of America.
