Mate Antolos Discusses His Latest Novel in an Interview with Sarah Halfpenny

Mate Antolos, the author known for finding solace in writing, was recently interviewed by Sarah Halfpenny about his book, The Uneasy Silence. During the interview, Antolos discussed the experiences that influenced his writing and how the Peninsula inspired the story. He elaborated on the development of the book's characters and their journey. Additionally, Antolos provided insights into his upcoming novel, The Fall, explaining how it connects to The Uneasy Silence.

 

In The Uneasy Silence, the Australian Government faces a crisis when two ASIS agents go missing on the Mornington Peninsula with sensitive files and devices. Mate Antolos was born in Melbourne in 1971 to Croatian immigrants. He initially pursued a career in the textile industry before turning to writing. After working in England and Northern Ireland, he returned to Australia and explored various ventures, including textile recycling and transport. Following the deaths of his parents, he found solace in writing and self-publishing short stories under the pseudonym Mate Solotna. His latest novel, The Uneasy Silence, emerged as a means of mourning and documenting the evolving Mornington Peninsula, with a prequel, The Fall, currently in progress.
