Lorna Chantelle Scott’s Book Reading in Uganda
In a newly established school in Uganda, a book reading session was conducted by a native friend of the author Lorna Chantelle Scott. The teacher read Cable the Crow to children uniquely and enterprisingly. English being a foreign second language to young Ugandan children, the teacher imitated the crows and other characters in the picture storybook. The children loved it and repeated imitations of the book’s characters.
Cable the Crow is a picture storybook for children depicting a day in the life of a crow and his wife. The story conveys subtle messages regarding litter cleaning and environmental conservation etc. You can get the book from here.
Lorna Chantelle Scott started school at the age of 2.5 years. She followed in the footsteps of her mother and became an art teacher. Apart from enjoying cultural experiences and exploring the countryside, she is passionate about arts, reading and writing.
