Joseph Hopkins Book Launch at Bluewater WHSmith
First-time author, Joseph Hopkins from Upchurch held his debut book launch for children’s title ‘Lydia Greenfingers’ at WHSmith Bluewater on Saturday 30th July.
Joseph signed copies of his book ‘Lydia Greenfingers’ where many other famous authors have also held their big events, including YouTuber Tanya Burr, who was actually there at the same time!
On the day the turnout was overwhelming with a queue almost out of the door, almost selling out of all his books on the day and selling more copies than other household names.
As a primary school teacher, Joseph often shares his stories with his pupils in class and he definitely brought this skillset to the day. This book launch was fun for all the family with opportunities to take pictures with Lydia Greenfingers, the author and with every purchase everyone received a balloon.
Lydia Greenfingers was inspired by the author’s late Nan, Lydia.
Joseph said: "My first daughter of two, Betty-Sue, would play in my Nan’s garden for hours and I used to love watching them from the window. They were totally captivated with each other's presence and though years apart in age, they had a connection like the best of friends. When my Nan passed away I felt empowered with the need to keep her memory living on, for her and also for Betty-Sue. That is how the story came to life."
Joseph Hopkins is set to attend a collection of schools in the Kent area; he will also be featured at the Dynamo Wish Day on Friday 12th August.
