Cuckfield Life magazine published a feature for John Bromley's second novel, Sons of the Earth. The author revealed in this feature that it took a lot of research to write this exceptional historical fiction depicting the story of three brothers in wartime.
Sons of the Earth is a tome set in the era of 1897, where the relationship of the three Pearson brothers falls apart due to the war situation. Conflicts arise when the eldest son Mathew is ambitious to follow the farming tradition and expects his brothers, Paul and John, to join him. However, the younger ones have some other plans. Younger brothers are struggling in their lives, and Mathew's obsession with farming adds fuel to the fire. The story reaches its climax when all three brothers reunite in England.
John Bromley served as a policeman and a publican. He had also remained associated with international trade. Currently, he is residing in West Sussex. After retirement, the author started writing books and drafted two masterpieces.
