Jim Toomey’s ‘We Were Tourists’ got Featured in the CQI Magazine
Jim Toomey’s book, ‘We were Tourists’ made it to CQI’s ‘The List’ of must-read books of 2019. ‘The List’ serves as one of the best collection of ‘must read’ indie books. Each book selected has been recommended by the experts at the CQI Magazine.
Jim has written his autobiography which depicts his lifelong journey of following his passions and avoiding obstacles. He was a renowned drummer at the time when he joined a group, ‘The Tourists’. It was in the late seventies and they quickly rose to the heights of new success. His other group members were Annie Lennox, Dave Stewart, Peet Coombes, and Eddie Chin. They became very famous in their early years with a lot of TV appearances and their tours across the world.
The story of this group is told by the man sitting behind the drums and tales told by him portray the busy work nature of a successful band. It includes the fun and success along with the pressure and creativity of seemingly endless tours. It also states the good and the bad sides of this business and the roller coaster ride of a band that sowed its seed 40 years ago and it wasn’t a bad decision at all.
