International Author Ghabeba Hurkchand talks about her book to Sunshine Coast Libraries
First-time author Ghabeba Hurkchand talks about her book ‘I Love You Just the Way You Are’ to Sunshine Coast Libraries in a video. She discusses her inspiration for the book and the beautiful message that it carries.
The words deliver a message of acceptance and love to young readers and their parents.
Inspiration for the book came when the author’s young son was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder.
When Ghabeba learned that her baby won’t have the normal childhood she wanted to assure him that as his parent she will still love him the same.
Those feelings were put on paper and were transformed into this amazing book.
The book also serves as a gentle reminder to parents that even if their kids act out of the ordinary they should still be treated the same.
The author has two kids and she lives in Australia with her family.
She was born and raised in South Africa. She moved to Australia in 2008.
Aside from her family, her two great loves are art and design.
She has her own textile business and she’s constantly creating design and creative works for her work.
