The International Magazine ‘INDIA SE’ featured a review about Dr. A.S. Bhalla’s ‘Imperial India: A Pictorial History’.

The book is based on the history of India and all of the magnificent forts, Palaces, fortresses and victory towers that buries the deep history of the empires that ruled India once.

Every building is unique and defines the astonishing facts of the history that nobody knew before. From the cities of Agra, Bombay, Calcutta, Fatehpur Sikri, and Hyderabad to Lahore, Madras, Poona, Rawalpindi, Quetta and Shimla, the book illustrates the royal structures and their lavishness which are living symbols for India and for the whole world.

Their Physical history has been damaged by the passage of time but their critical history still remains the same and showcases the customs of colonial rulers and Indian and Burmese Princes.

The cultural history has been preserved in the shape of Shakespearean theatre, musical comedies and drama in the Indian Subcontinent. Similarly, we can see the glimpse of British architecture in the Indian transportation system, especially in the railways.

The author’s private collection of antique postcards in Germany and the UK between 1905 and 1910 is the main source of illustrations in the book.
