A book feature just got published on the news website, Hartlepool Life, about the recent book of Garry Baker, Yes Son, on 25th May 2022. The feature shares the insights into the book and the past life of the author.
Yes Son is a work of fantasy. Madeleine’s recent breakup with her rich sailor fiancé, Jake, led her to strive for newer things in life. Her willingness to enjoy the luxuries of life tempts her to rob a bank. She wants to support her poor sister Matilda as well. She meets her alcoholic mother, Annabelle, on a birthday lunch to discuss her intentions. Being preoccupied, she’s been charged with the murder of a motorcyclist. The motorcyclist’s brother is a Portuguese gangster Hamish, who is hell-bent on taking revenge on Madeleine. She tries to escape the Australian Federation Police and Hamish by hibernating with her childish brother. While hiding, her past acquaintance with witch-craft lead her to kill her father, who had been bullying her for years. Later she finds out that he was an alien who had adopted this family to study them.
Garry Baker, a 53-years-old author, has been a former student of the High Tunstall School. He has never been to Cotswold or Australia in actuality, but he has based the setting of this complicated story in both quite well, surprisingly.
