A Broken Childhood Entitled Under Awards Finalist Books for Adults
The Wishing Shelf Book Awards 2019 nominated A Broken Childhood in the category of Awards Finalist Books for Adults (non-fiction) on Monday, 17th February 2020. The author’s motto is ‘Having suffered abuse doesn’t mean you have to be an abuser yourself’. She wrote this book to raise awareness in this regard.
The tale revolves around the abused person’s feelings and response to love. Their trust issues and fear of not being believed. But still, this tale ends telling the victim that there’s still hope of living again.
Dr Lydia Taiwo herself is a survivor of child abuse. She has been resilient over the years carrying grievous wounds but still somehow managed to move on. Now she is having 6 kids and happily married to David.
