‘Beryl The Beetle’ By Jayne Reed Featured In Local Dorchester Magazine
Making a reference towards Thomas the Tank engine, magazine praised the interesting book ‘Beryl the Beetle’ by Jayne Reed. The article further shared that the book is a tribute to author’s late father who was in car restoration business and all proceeds from the book will go to Marie Curie, whose nurse did so much to help Jayne’s father in his last days.
‘Beryl The Beetle’ is an inspiring story of a rusting old VW Beetle, which is abandoned by the owner and mocked and ridiculed by other cars. Ernie the paint shop man finds the car and spends his time and energy to renew its old beauty. The old Beetle now as good as new won the first prize at a classic car show.
Jayne Reed is happily married to Richard and has two grown-up children. She lives in Dorchester with her husband and works as a principal teaching assistant. This is Jayne’s debut children’s book and is written as a tribute to her late father who had a family owned classic Volkswagens.
