Author Pat Church Nominated for a BAFTA Film Competition Award
The author of an inspiring autobiography and memoir, The Smallest Show on Earth, got nominated for the BAFTA “For the Love of Film Competition” award as a finalist. He got featured in the popular newspaper of the Suffolk region, Bury Free Press. The feature was originally published on the 12th of December last year.
In his memoir, he talks about his career spanning over five decades in the same cinema where he started working as a teenager aged 19 at the time. He has worked in the present-day Patrick Church from the 1960s to the present year. Through his book, he takes us through his experience into the trials and joys of being a projectionist screening blockbuster movies like ‘Jaws’ and others like James Bond series starting in the 60s.
Patrick Church has worked in the cinema industry for the last 50 years. His passion for it shines through in The Smallest Show on Earth. Spending most of his career as a projectionist, Patrick shows how he guided cinema through the competitive advent of TV and continues on in a Picturehouse in Bury St Edmunds.
