On 31st July 2019 Hoole Community Centre organised an event where the author Isabel Donnollan talked about her book When We Were Very Rich. She shared that it was lovely attending the event and addressing such a wonderful audience. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the talk. She further added that she has two talks pipelined.

A rich and emotional family novel When We Were Very Rich is a book that will take you back into the times when people were rich in culture, norms, sharing and caring. Isabel has penned down her family memoir in a fascinating way. Her childhood might be tough in monetary terms but it was rich and filled with family togetherness, love, nature and freedom. From her grandparents to her parents and her life, she has covered almost all the endures her family went through.  The author Isabel Winnifred Donnollan is the eldest daughter of her parents. She was born in Australia in 1918. The Rockhampton City Council elected her as the first woman alderman.
