Author Hugh Allen comes out with his first novel, ‘Through the Wall’
Hugh Allen comes out with memories from his early childhood days and is set to put out his first novel. The 70-year-old remembers the days when Berlin was divided by wall. Allen mixing his personal experience with a dash of fiction has proved the perfect literary cocktail.
He grew up in Germany until he was close to teenage and has written a ripping yarn which is set each side of the Berlin Wall and tells the tale of two individuals coped with the experience of living in not only a split city but a divided country. Using his personal memories and experiences of friends he has compiled a work of history and fiction. East Berlin gave the impression of how everything is working but actually there was very little functioning.
In Through the Wall, we are shown two vastly different, but equally intriguing and moving personal histories of the barrier in Germany after World War II. In the West, we meet a young English boy, Hugh, with a fondness for adventure. In the East, we follow Hans Bernauer, from a tragic childhood to his early adulthood.Through the Wall is an intriguing tale with an end that will capture the curiosity of every reader.
