Author Anthony Franklin Interviewed on Radio Woking
The author of the acclaimed and enthralling adventure novel Ice Crossing, Anthony Franklin, was recently invited on Radio Woking to talk about his book on the 26th of January this month. The radio station host asked him about his inspiration and how did he come up with the idea about this book. The author also talked about the past experiences that led him to write such a masterpiece.
Set in the Cold War era, The Ice Crossing is the story of Karl who is the son of some privileged East Germans who works for Moscow as part of their space programme. When they gain a breakthrough in technology, they plan to defect. Through a turn of events, they disappear in a plane crash with their son Karl surviving the crash and is taken by his grandfather to America. Their journey is full of adventure, danger and taking risks and they overcome all of this with the help of some luck and a lot of efforts.
Anthony Franklin conveys a sense of ever-present danger as well as the atmosphere of the time and the disparity between life in the East and West Germany at the height of the Cold War. It is a must-read!
