Austin Macauley ‘s International Tour
We recently embarked on a month of international events in April across the globe and were delighted of how many joined us in our journey!
The first chapter of events was the London Book Fair 2018 (LBF), the first edition of London Book Fair since achieving international status.
With a new office in Sharjah, Austin Macauley can now boast a presence in three continents of the world.
As the event held special meaning, activities were planned to mark the achievements including network drinks at our stand, during the first day of LBF, which was a successful and enjoyable addition to our attendance.
Activities and visits by authors continued for all three days of the event and it proved to be an outstanding success.
The next chapter of events was Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival (SCRF). It was our first showing at the annual event and we had a range of different children’s and young adult titles on offer including My Teacher’s A Robot by Phil Barnes and No Name Online by HMP Dharma. To mark the first edition, we had special colouring activities on our stand, children coloured in the quill of our logo and special gifts and balloons were given out to the visitors attending.
We recorded significant sales at the event, most of the books in stock were sold out. Sharjah Library were in the many who purchased books from us at the festival.
Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Muhammad Al Qasimi visited the fair and took a moment to say hello to the staff at the event too – a great surprise for all at AM!
The last chapter in the international month of April was Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF). This was the first time that Austin Macauley Publishers was part of one of the biggest book fairs in the Middle East.
Austin Macauley had a collection of books to sell at the fair including Children’s, Young Adult, Thriller, Self-Help and Business related genres.
Liam Kelly, author of Worried William, also visited the ADIBF and took time to pose for photos with young readers at the stand.
With participation in the event, Austin Macauley Publishers made a real impression in the region.
Both events in the UAE were rewarding and important to continue our global success for our authors.
We are currently preparing to attend the Rights Fair, BookExpo and BookCon in New York, USA.
There are still a range of events to help us continue our international success, so keep an eye on our social profiles and do visit us at the closest international book event to you!
