Amy Power Featured in Basingstoke Gazette for Children's Book Reading Event
The Basingstoke Gazette recently featured author Amy Power following her book reading event at Kingsclere Library on February 18. The article, written by Jasmine Kelly, highlights how Amy engaged with an audience of around 20 children and their parents/carers, bringing her book As Beautiful as A Dove to life. The event was part of the library’s ongoing efforts to promote local authors and encourage a love for reading among young children. Kingsclere Community Library, which has been independently run for the past 10 years, continues to host book-related events, with their annual second-hand book sale set to take place in October to support library operations.
As Beautiful as A Dove is a heartwarming children’s book that follows Butterfly, who admires the way Dove and Peregrine Falcon fly and wishes she could soar just like them. But as she struggles to match their grace, she embarks on a journey of self-discovery.
Amy Power, a first-time author, is currently pursuing a degree in Drama and Creative Writing at Royal Holloway. She wrote As Beautiful as A Dove while traveling across Europe with her mother in 2019, hoping to inspire children to appreciate nature and its uniqueness.
