Alan John Gets Featured by Kenilworth Weekly News
Our uber-talented author, Alan John, gets featured by Kenilworth Weekly News for his fascinating new read, The Blitz Kids. The feature discusses Alan's inspiration behind writing the book and gave a gist of what his book is all about. "From brushes with the Home Guard referred to by the children as the Look, Duck and Vanish brigade, to their meetings with a tramp, humour is ever-present," said Alan in the feature. Set in the backdrop of 1940, The Blitz Kids is the story of four young children, Boss, Brains, Muncher and Pip who are holding on to their dear freedom to play, despite the bombings wreaking havoc over Britain. Little did they know that their lives will turn upside down, and they will be on a run for their lives before the year's end. Although just like any good story, it infuses some sombre moments, but joy and happiness remain an integral part of the story. The story is surely not to be missed. Grab your copy here.
Born in 1932, Alan John Bytheway is a former teacher and lecturer. As a young kid living in Coventry during the 40’s, he experienced the perils of war that he has incorporated in this book.
