Camden New Journal (The Independent London newspaper) featured Michael Shew as a former head of Acland Burghley. The feature shared that Michael Shew always wanted to write fiction and is now glad that he did it. The article shared that for his first book he draw on incidents from his overall teaching career.

‘Lesson in Lying’ is a thrilling fiction based on what goes in a school campus led by a corrupt head who made his way to the top through the means of cutting corners, undermining colleagues and blackmailing. Now a co-conspirator from the past has strikes back to blackmail him and his wife is also on to him.

Michael Shew has served many years as a head teacher in two London Comprehensive school. He has experience with daily pressures and exhilarations of being a Head. To improve his writing skills he went back to school and took a ‘Writing Fiction’ course at Kellogg College, Oxford.
