  • Ann Göth

In her travels to Devon and Cornwall, handing out miniature kangaroos on the way, Fil Buffalo makes sightseeing enjoyable and insightful. What makes this book even more recommendable is the dry humor that she throws into the story like raisins in a dow. Don’t miss this read if you are a traveler. I promise you will have the aha moments when you realize that your own experiences with traveling are similar but you would never be able to describe them in such funny ways. And if you are from the UK, you will understand why Fil “feels strange to be juxtaposing England and sunshine in the same sentence”. She was “going out on a limb here”, hoping England would “shed her uptight, gloomy raincoat persona and emerge as a chilled, yet temperate climate landscape”. This style of writing keeps you entertained throughout the whole book. Highly recommended!
