Life was a relentless struggle for Ruby, a mother grappling with the emotional and financial challenges of raising three daughters. Aliza, her eldest, dreamed of becoming a doctor while battling an insatiable obsession with shoes – a temptation she couldn’t resist whenever opportunity knocked. In this poignant collection of standalone short stories that hit close to home, readers will discover glimmers of hope illuminating even the darkest of moments. These unforgettable tales of resilience and compassion serve as a heartwarming reminder that acts of kindness have the power to uplift the human spirit in the face of adversity.

Naheed Kausar was born and married in Pakistan but moved to England a long time ago, and where she had four children. She worked as a teaching assistant for a few years and has been working as a volunteer for the past twenty years. When she was young, she wanted to write, but life got in the way. She wrote her first article as a teenager, and it was printed. She wrote a few articles and tips for Prima, Women’s Own, My Weekly, and Best Magazine. She also wrote a few articles and stories which were published in The Daily Jung, the oldest Urdu-language newspaper in Pakistan. People, their wisdom, and their words have always inspired her.
