A little tale about Syd the snail who wanted to write his name on the moon. It tells of his night time adventures with his friend Ollie Owl. The story, accompanied by colourful pictures, is told in rhyme – a fun way to read to children, or for them to read themselves.

Following a career in advertising Geoff Waterhouse was a freelance illustrator and cartoonist. His work has appeared in many leading magazines such as Punch, The Oldie, Private Eye and Readers Digest to name but a few. He has also written amusing articles for several magazines on a variety of subjects with accompanying illustrations. His outside interests including cycling, kayaking and he has sailed sand yachts at international events.

Geoff wrote and illustrated a number of little stories for his children and these were filed away and then resurrected for his grandchildren. His daughter, Rebecca, suggested that these should be dusted off and published for other children to enjoy. This was made quite easy for Geoff as he now has a computer which makes dusting off easy by the click of a mouse and the new found magic of the iworld.

A gorgeous book for little ones with a lovely message to not give up on your dreams, work with your friends and have fun along the way! Great, bold, bright stylish illustrations and really fun to read the rhyming story aloud to children. Syd is a big hit with all the little ones I have read it aloud to. Long live Syd!
