  I absolutely loved this book! The author had me laughing and crying with the characters. Her writing reminds me a little of Julie Garwood, whose books I really love. Looking forward to more by this author!

  I was given an advanced reading copy in exchange for an honest review, so here it is:
  
  Right from the prologue, I knew I was going to love Jackson's story. Madelyne James had me captivated from the first paragraph which is quite a feat!
  
  And then we meet Arielle and it's impossible to not fall in love with her. She has such a genuine sweetness to her (don't let that fool you into thinking she's not capable of some sass because she absolutely has her sassy moments). You know right away in Chapter 1 that this woman is a good person who always wants to do the right thing. And you can feel right away that if she and the Jackson character from the prologue meet, sparks are bound to fly between them (and boy do they)!
  
  Both main characters are really fascinating. The author peels the layers of her characters as chapters go on revealing more details from their respective pasts and the more I learned about them, the more I liked them. As the story progresses, their dynamic keeps getting better and better to the point where I cut into my hours of sleep just to continue reading!
  
  The developing relationship between Arielle and Jackson is such a treat to read! Because he too is learning more about her as the days go by and he's clearly falling for her hard and fast even if he, frustratingly, won't admit it to himself (or to her of course). This is a romance novel so as the chapters go by, their connection intensifies physically, but also emotionally. The balance between those two aspects is perfectly written and I can't even decide which aspect I enjoyed more because both were so well written and given the same care by the author.
  
  And while most of the story is steadily paced and mostly fun, when it comes crashing, the whiplash is very impactful! The drama, while unexpected for the characters, feels very natural for the reader. The relationships had to be tested and they certainly are. The stakes are high and they feel very real, very grounded. And while their circumstances completely change, the love the characters share stays and it's really great to see them navigate new settings and new dynamics that are forced upon them. I'd be remiss not to mention that the addition of the character of Jackson's sister, Jenna, is like a breath of fresh air.
  
  Overall, the writing is absolutely stellar: Madelyne James conveys feelings flawlessly and her descriptions are so well written that you can picture everything in your head as if you're watching a movie (this book should be made into a movie to be honest). I couldn't get enough and was honestly kind of sad to reach the end. Even though I was torn as I also wanted to see the story of Jackson and Arielle through. I already can't wait to read more from this author.
