High school life is proving difficult for the peculiar student, Pricilla Phantom – what with handsome boys, bothersome bullies, and magical mishaps! The avid adolescent can’t help but think all the misfortunes in her life are part of something greater; especially when she stumbles upon the mysterious Monochrome Book. As soon as her fingertips touched its worn leather cover, she knew something odd was resonating within. Now, with the help of her newfound friends, she can uncover the secrets of the book and unfold the hellish truths its pages contain…

After deciphering the riddle written inside, the girl discovers the enchanted world that was tucked away within the pages of monochrome. Now facing a greater challenge, Pricilla has found out she is the only soul who can save the magical world of Phantom Grail. Here’s the catch… she needs to conquer a demon overlord!

No one knows what endeavours the preppy pupil must face next, but one thing for sure: you can never judge a book by its cover…

Priya Rohella’s first novel, Pricilla Phantom and the Monochrome Book, was written to inspire readers everywhere, reminding them that true magic derives from within. Her passion for writing began in 2013, when she published a classic ‘Twist in the Tale’ poem in a collaboration book with support from the ‘Young Writers’ organisation.

Who knew that a few years later, she would start the creation of an outstanding fantasy novel at age 16. Currently working on a sequel to her first publication, as well as a range of other colourful novellas, we can’t wait to see what she conjures up next.

  • Mark

Soren is a complete vibe, and Virion’s crazy personality is a great contrast to Pricilla’s. Looking forward to a sequel!

First off this is an amazing read for young readers and those adults that are still young at heart. I loved every minute, it was hard to put.

At risk of going I can only simply say that You HAVE to read it.

  • Rosie

Excellent book! A very talented author, this is indeed a great example of creative writing, not sure why there is a random 1 star negative review, seriously :-/ .... but hey, each to their own. I personally highly recommend this book, I loved it!

As a friend of the Author, I obviously have only wonderful things to say about them. They have put all their heart and soul into creating this lovely book and I think it shows. Although this may be biased, I truly enjoyed this book and cannot wait to read more of their work. Of course, this book won't be for everyone and that is okay. It's a piece of fiction for the younger audience and suits it just fine. There is no need to take it seriously as long as it is entertaining and you enjoy it at the end of the day. It's an easy and fun read and I think it's perfect for pre-teens who can relate to Pricilla and just want to get lost in a fantasy and that's exactly what this book provides. There is so much opportunity for this story and I have no doubt that the author will come out with more wonderful works that are bigger and better.

I believe that you learn something new every day, as I myself have learned so much over the years and every day I continue to grow and get better in my own writing. This applies to the author too. This is only the start of the many great things to come as she develops her skill in writing.

Yes, there is room for improvement, but there always is. I don't think that should hold you back from being able to enjoy a plain and simple good book.

I am so proud of you Priya. You are wonderful and I am so lucky to have you as a close friend. You've helped me through so much and I will always support you. I love you, keep writing.

I just finished reading this book and loved it so much that I finished it in two days!! The characters, story, and everything about it were beautiful! A really exciting book to read filled with lots of creativity, passion and imagination :)
The main character Pricilla was of course my favourite, and there were many other characters in there that I loved who I will not name so that I don't reveal spoilers. I can't wait to see the sequel and future books from the same author :D
