The Reverend Derek Nuttall MBE was a URC Minister and National Director of the bereavement charity Cruse. He played a vital role in helping the village of Aberfan, South Wales, recover from the tragedy of October 1966, when a coal mining waste tip slid onto their school and killed 116 children and 28 adults. He was a devoted family man who married twice: first to Margaret, with whom he had three children, and then to Doreen after Margaret’s early death. He had four grandchildren who enjoy his passion for storytelling.
