Julie Panagiris loves children and animals, and her stories open a world of magical adventures. Although this is her first published work, it is by no means her first story. For Julie, writing is innate: it’s as natural as breathing and something she believes God created her to do.
This is a really good story. I think all wildlife and creatures in Australia need to be treated nicely and taken care of, and I liked the nocturnal animals being in it. I think this book should be in every kindy / Year 1 classroom in Australia.

I absolutely love Platypus Promises by Julie Panagiris. It is a charming and fun-filled adventure about a man on a quest to see a platypus in the wild. Along the way, he meets quirky animals, including a wombat in a dressing gown, who guide him in his funny journey with wise bush advice. Written in delightful rhyming prose and paired with adorable illustrations, this whimsical story captures the joy of curiosity and exploration. A heartwarming read that children and adults will love!

I love this book! Most importantly, my students love this story! I teach children in the 5-12 years age range and it was enjoyed by every age group. The animal characters bring the story to life with their sass and confidence! It’s a fun read. Please read this to any child in your orbit!
