Mr Sloth loves to explore new and exciting places, and one day decides to walk along a muddy pathway which leads him to the big city. It's much busier than the forest, full of fast cars, lots of people, and loud strange noises! Lost and confused, he asks a little girl for directions. Did he follow her directions to the letter? Find out in Mr Sloth's exciting city adventure!

Dr Lydia Taiwo is a survivor of horrific, grievous bodily harm and child abuse. She has over sixty injuries and scars all over her body. There are six on her face and eight on her head which are visible to the naked eye, all at the hands of her parents, most especially her mother.
Lydia has been very resilient over the years, carrying the wounds, the pain and heartache, but through it all, she has been able to forgive her parents and move on with her life. She does not consider herself a victim but a victor. Her faith in God has played a major role in her recovery from abuse.
‘Having suffered abuse doesn’t mean you have to be an abuser yourself’ is her motto
Lydia has written other books and raises awareness about child abuse and its impact later on in life.
Many lives have been damaged and broken as a result of child abuse. Many have, sadly, even lost their lives. She prays for this book to help millions of people all over the world, to rise up from broken and shine again.
Dr Lydia Taiwo is happily married to David, and they both have six children.

I really like the graphics on the book. The story itself promotes entertainment, learning experiences, subject matter, social skills, and any number of skills in the early reader.

This is a story of a brave and determined Mr. Sloth. He’s willing to step out and explore the busy world despite the challenges that come his way. I love that Mr Sloth is strong-willed and committed to reach his goal in spite of his weakness and what others say to him. The illustrations are colorful and have captured the true emotions and personality of the main character. It is a good read. The storyline is simplified and relatable. There are moral lessons to explore and talk about in relation to life values that can be applied to daily life.

I found this a great read for children. A simple, easy, and quick read. As an adult reader, I could pick on themes from Mr. Sloth. He was adventurous, achieved goals, took risks, remained himself, and didn't let others different from him change his ways and life stye. The book is so beautifully illustrated with eye-catching, colorful big pictures which made the book fun to read. A lovely story that left me feeling happy at the end! Will definitely get copies for my grandkids! It's worth its 5 stars.

This is a delightful story about Mr. Sloth, going on an adventure to see the wider world. He is curious about what lies beyond his home in the woods. The book has some features that children will love, the repetition of Step by step, slow and steady, I am crossing the road," which repeats on several pages, is a lovely way for children to consolidate their comprehension and vocabulary. Children enjoy repetition it gives a sense of safety and helps them to reinforce their learning. The book also has some good life lessons for children about patience, emotional regulation, asking for help, and emotional resilience.

Lydia Ola Taiwo is a remarkable woman of resilience and tenacity, and I am so encouraged and honored to be acknowledged in her debut children’s book, which is a wonderful achievement. I look forward to more adventures with Mr. Sloth.
