Alexandra grew up watching and helping her Dad, who was a Flight Engineer, work on cars, boats, motorbikes, and aeroplanes. Not many girls knew what Swarfega was, how to get something ‘shipshape’ and quizzed regularly on your favourite aeroplane (Spitfire was always first choice, by the way!) Inspired by her Dad, Mr Miffin is Alexandra’s first book and, having her own two boys, she knows what a joy it is to read to and with them from a young age. She now lives in Suffolk with her husband, two sons and a variety of furry friends and sometimes can be found tinkering on her own old motorbike, Benny the Bantam.
