Little Mouse lives in a little cottage at the bottom of an old oak tree in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside. She has lots of friends including Old Owl, who lives at the top of the old oak tree, Scruffy Mouse, who has a workshop where he makes and mends things, and Mattie Mouse, who lives in London and works for the London Parks and Gardens Trust. The story of Little Mouse is all about the adventures she has with her two friends.

Gillian Lishman lives in Yorkshire on a dairy farm with her husband, Ian. From here she runs her practice as a Reflexologist and Foot Health Practitioner. She has two grown up children Richard and Helen and four grandchildren. Gillian was inspired to write the story of Little Mouse during the lockdown period of the Covid-19 pandemic. Missing her grandchildren greatly during this period she decided to write a chapter per week and send it in the post, which caused great excitement. Gillian has never had any previous professional writing experience.

    Little Mouse by Gillian Lishman

What a delightful story of the adventures of Little Mouse and her friends!
In today’s busy world of computer generated games how lovely it is to follow the adventures of Little Mouse living in her big old oak tree . Children will be delighted to read this book themselves, or to have it read to them, perhaps as a bedtime story, and live in Little Mouse’s world for a short time.
The book is well illustrated with each adventure in glorious colour. A lovely read for young children with many educational gems about country living and wildlife.
    I highly recommend this book.

Little mouse is a kind, friendly and helpful little mouse that loves to help all of her friends that live in the countryside by Oak tree farm.
Her journeys take her on different adventures where she meets lots of friends that tell her about new and exciting things that happen in the countryside.

I found the book to be exciting and informative to younger reader's as it explains what lives in the countryside and where to find the inhabitants of different creature's.

This book is ideal for bedtime reading to little ones as a chapter a night is just long enough. Illustration of the book is vibrant in colour which keeps little eyes interested and focused in the story.

What a delightful and enchanting story book with eye-catching and colourful pictures. I really enjoyed the fact that the story subtly demonstrated the importance of friendships, kindness and the nature around us which is a significant message to our young children. I am sure any young child will be excited about and engrossed with Little Mouse's character and her adventures.

    Well done Gillian!

This is the most beautiful children's book with lovely illustrations throughout. The story about little mouse and her friends and what she gets up to is enchanting. There are parts which relate to farming life which is so endearing to children. I would say a child would equally enjoy having it read to them when very young, and later read it themselves, the chapters are a good length to deal with both scenarios.
    Overall a lovely lovely read.

A lovely book for children and their parents to read together. It is both engaging and educational. I will be sending copies to my cousins in Australia.
