Hate crimes involving anti-Semitism, racial bigotry and sexual preferences are growing exponentially in all societies. This book is a simplistic attempt for young minds to understand how hate can be instigated. Through this story, children learn how to overcome prejudice, violence and celebrate each other’s differences. The answer to understanding others is through education starting at a young age. Now more than ever, the subject of this book is badly needed.

Stevi Richardson was born and brought up in a Jewish household in the very segregated deep south. She later moved to Miami, Florida for college and remained to bring up her children while working. It was during those times that south Florida experienced an influx of immigrants that brought different beliefs, ideas and cultures with them. Much of Ms. Richardson’s writings reflect this tapestry of many voices and points of view. In retirement, Ms. Richardson traded the white sandy beaches of Florida for the white snow-capped mountains of Utah where she lives today with her husband, children and grandchildren.

    ~Celebrate All Our Differences~
This Children’s picture book called IT WAS GOOD was such a delight. The lessons in life to take from it are simple but powerful. All ages of children and adults as well, will enjoy it’s message of kindness and inclusion.

Stevi Richardson’s debut Childrens book is well told, colorful and clever with it’s depiction of nature’s characters, Hope the brave morning glory and Anthony the ant. Together they bravely stand against evil in their beautiful garden world to make it again as it was when IT WAS GOOD.

The author herself shares to her readers “Thank you for reminding me why we are all here on this planet: To celebrate all our differences. Only then will our society be the best version of itself”

    MY DAUGHTER’S NEW FAVORITE BOOK!
With all the craziness happening in our world, I was searching for a book that tackled these sensitive issues with age-appropriateness…This is the book!!! My curious nine year-old and I read it together the first time, and it laid the perfect foundation for us to discuss these challenging topics. This has now become her favorite book to read on her own…she even loves the beautiful illustrations! The author has allowed my daughter to make her own interpretations of these very real, timeless/universal themes with open-mindedness.
As a mother I feel like this book is just another learning tool to support my daughter in becoming a good human.
I think every guidance counselor in elementary schools should have this book available in their office, as well as use it for character development lessons so these kiddos can learn the important of kindness. This book is a breath of fresh air & I highly recommend it for everyone :)
