My wife and I bought our daughters a Syrian hamster, Fluffy, who became a much-loved part of our family. Our children were convinced that Fluffy had a secret life. I eventually wrote Hamster HQ to try to answer the question of what did Fluffy do when we turned the lights off?

Darren Mennie can usually be found reading a science fiction book or watching science fiction on TV. Writing books for children was always on his wish list and the publication of the children’s book Hamster HQ this year will finally make that a reality. He loves cycling and spends way too much time on his day job of running a small installation company! He lives in Somerset in the UK with his wife and family.

The story of a young adventurer hamster embarking on his first secret mission – the rescue of a fellow hamster from the Space Station no less!
An engaging, entertaining read, sure to delight children, packed full of details about how hamsters get about on their own four paws as well as in several different modes of transport, including a sports car, an airplane, and space travel to mention just a few. I highly recommend Hamster HQ.
