Dougal LeClair has decided to make a chocolate cake for the local fair’s cake competition. He doesn’t have all the ingredients, including the chocolate he needs. With a bit of bear logic, some cunning and a large dose of bravery, he bakes a massive, delicious-looking cake. The people at the fair are amazed, but does it really taste as delicious as it looks? Maybe there is another use for Dougal’s cake...?
Jenny Healey has been writing for children for 12 years, completing studies and gaining her Diploma of Advanced Applied Writing. She enjoys retirement – it gives her more time to write. She loves to travel and spend time with her grandchildren, who often unknowingly provide fodder for her stories. Although she has self-published three picture books and one e-book, this is her first picture book to be professionally published outside of New Zealand. Jenny lives with her husband in a small New Zealand town, called Tairua, on the Coromandel Peninsular.
