Dola Amodu was a nurse practitioner for over four decades, a profession she now misses so much. After retirement and not wanting to let her brain go to sleep, she went to study English and afterwards attended a writing college as a distance learning student. She was inspired to write after becoming a grandmother and she had to read books to her grandchildren. ‘If they would want to listen to what others write, why can’t I write for them to read?’ She asked herself. That was the beginning of the journey to Destiny, her first novel.
It’s just so great when you find one of those books that completely drags you in, this is one of those books for me.
Destiny!Destiny! I got the chills so many times throughout the book. Destiny managed to surpass my high expectations and be nothing at all like I expected. This book is rich in African culture.
Destiny an intriging, exciting and educative fictional story full of wisdom and African cultural ways of life. A master piece that provide an insight to African traditions and belelief. Well done to Dola, for her insightfulness, clear message and enjoyable story for all of us.
