Gary R Hamilton is the author of The Fixer. He was born in England and moved to Jamaica at a young age. A self-professed technology geek, he is also a romantic, so it is not surprising that he loved the white hat cowboy heroes of Louis L’Amour, insatiably devoured the technically detailed historical novels of Robert Ludlum, and has worked in the IT industry for three decades. Caribbean culture has left an indelible mark on Gary, and he is fascinated by its recent history, inexorably guiding him to writing about it.
Gary is married with two daughters, and lives in the UK.

I thought this was a really interesting premise for a story, and one I'd need seen previously. Whilst crime novels aren't my usual go to for a book, I read this whilst on a short holiday and I found it a really enjoyable read. The characters are brought to life with their different mannerisms and you get a complete sense of the family network, something I would assume it based on real life experiences, which adds to the realism of the backstory. The story builds throughout with additional twists and turns that aren't obvious which is an absolute must for me to enjoy a book; I don't want to know what's going to happen several chapters before it finally does, and Daydreamers kept me "guessing" throughout! All in all, this is a thoroughly enjoyable read and I'm looking forward to the second instalment (at least, I hope there will be one as I'd love to see how Sean's Daydreaming develops!).
