An enchanting and uplifting tale of a little boy named Jack who is struggling with dyslexia at school. Sometimes it is difficult to understand why we are different, even though each and every one of us is unique. This story teaches us that despite the struggle and realisation of being different, just like Jack, one is still capable of fulfilling their dreams.

Dyslexia has brought out a passion in Karlie for helping and educating others, specifically around hidden disabilities and mental health issues. The book was created to empower and educate children primarily with dyslexia but can be related to any difference/disability. Karlie has over 14 years’ experience of working with both adults and children; they have been her main influence when writing this book.

Am I Different?: Jack and Kangaroo's Dyslexic Adventure is a great book to empower children with dyslexia. Having dyslexia can be challenging, but this book teaches children there are ways to overcome dyslexia. Parents and educators will benefit from this cute book that puts a positive spin on a hidden disability. This is a great book for parents to have when having a conversation with their child about having dyslexia. The character in the book is relatable and it helps normalize a very common learning disability in children. It is great read to help build confidence in children that have any learning challenges.
As a school counselor, this is one of the first books for children I have seen on dyslexia. It is a great resource to have in my office.
